If you’ve ever tried to fix something…
only to realize you’re not even sure what’s wrong in the first place…
Welcome to spring on the farm.
🔧 When things don’t run
This time of year, we’re getting everything ready to go.
Planters. Equipment. Irrigation pivots.
And sometimes… things just won’t run.
No clear reason.
No obvious fix.
Just a whole lot of wires, parts, and head scratching.
🎬 A little like Mission Impossible
Fixing a pivot can feel a bit like a scene from Mission Impossible:
“Cut the blue wire!”
“Wait — maybe the red one?”
Except instead of a countdown clock…
it’s planting season getting closer by the day.
And instead of a clean, labeled system…
it looks more like a plate of spaghetti than anything else.
🔍 The real challenge
The hardest part?
You don’t always know what the problem is right away.
So you:
-
test one thing
-
try another
-
backtrack
-
and keep going until something finally works
It’s not always quick.
And it’s definitely not always straightforward.
👨🔧 Figuring it out as you go
We’re lucky to have some good experience on our side (and a mechanical engineer in the family doesn’t hurt).
But even then — troubleshooting is just part of farming.
It’s rolling up your sleeves, digging in, and figuring it out one step at a time.
🌱 Why it matters this time of year
Spring planting depends on everything working when it needs to.
Because once conditions are right…
you go.
So getting ahead of problems now — even the frustrating ones — makes all the difference later.
🌾 The reality of farming
Farming isn’t just planting and harvesting.
It’s:
-
fixing
-
adjusting
-
troubleshooting
-
and sometimes… guessing and checking
It’s not always pretty.
But it’s part of growing something you can be proud of.
❤️ Final thought
So if you’ve ever felt like you were just trying things until something worked…
You’d fit right in out here.
👉 And if you’re enjoying a bowl of popcorn later on…
just know there’s a good chance it started with a moment like this.
