Growing the Acres—and Our Gratitude
As Free Day Popcorn has grown, so has our gratitude for the incredible support we’ve received along the way. In the beginning, Nate rented acres from his dad, Lonny, who generously gave up his own popcorn contracts to make room for our dream. That gift of trust set everything in motion.
We quickly outgrew those fields, and we were blessed with friends and neighbors who trusted us with theirs. Without them, Free Day Popcorn—the kernels and the company—simply wouldn’t exist.

From a Few Fields to Hundreds of Acres
Today, we cultivate hundreds of acres of popcorn each year. The work has scaled, but the heart hasn’t changed:

Free Day Farms now operates as a separate farming entity so we can steward land well, plan rotations responsibly, and keep the popcorn thriving for the long run.

We moved from basement storage, to on-farm space, to our own warehouse in town so we can ship in almost any weather and make pickups easier for partners and customers.

Harvest still humbles us. It takes weeks (not minutes!)—and it takes people: family, neighbors, truck drivers, cleaners, packagers, and the retailers who put our bags on their shelves.

Ten Years In—and Still Just Getting Started
It’s amazing to look back at the growth over these past ten years: more acres, better equipment, stronger systems, and a community that keeps cheering us on. The vision remains simple:
